Ramen Restaurant in Gion 〜RAMEN MURAJI KYOTO GION〜


The town with tradition of Kyoto, Gion-shinbashi area.

Maiko-san walks down the street along Kyo-machiya.

In this traditional atmosphere you bump into RAMEN MURAJI KYOTO GION.



RAMEN MURAJI KYOTO GION is a ramen restaurant which is known for its thick chicken broth ramen.

It is located near one of the popular tourist spots,  Tatsumi-bashi bridge.

The entrance looks like a Japanese cuisine fine dine restaurant, and the street is narrow enough to miss.

Please look around carefully when you’re nearby.

If you miss the entrance, you can’t taste this delicious ramen from Ramen Muraji.


Selected  Decoration

The restaurant is located in Gion Shinbashi area, which is filled with rich traditional atmosphere. So does the interior of the restaurant with Japanese traditional ambience.

The owner selected the interior furnitures and decorations  himself for the betterment of customer satisfaction.

Various decorations around the tables create the atmosphere of Gion, Kyoto.

The lamp cover made of Japanese paper, a bamboo blind and wallpaper  and traditional scrolls of Japanese paper made by local artisans.

Feel the culture and tradition of Kyoto while you’re waiting for ramen.


Tori Shiro・Tori Kuro

This place is well known for its two kinds of ramen with thick whitish chicken-bone soup and store-made noodles. 

They are Tori Shiro and Tori Kuro.

Tori Shiro (Photo above) is a bit salty, thick chicken-bone soup ramen.

Comparing with Tori Kuro, this has lighter taste.

Tori Kuro (Photo above) has thick and dense chicken soup with soy sauce flavor

Both soup are thick and smooth. They go very well with the noodle.

Please do not mind to slurp when you have ramen. That’s the best way of enjoying noodle and soup the Japanese way.

Roasted pork fillet and eggs are offered enhance the all round taste. Sliced burdock fry is on top of the soup. Its crunchiness and crispiness add another layer to the flavor.

You shall order additional toppings, like eggs, bamboo shoots and roasted pork fillet, and more noodles. Please ask the staff when you order your ramen.


Try Another Specialty!

Please don’t just finish your ramen and go back home. Try the side menus too.

This restaurant has another specialty.

Among the side menu, the owner recommends me the specialty.


It is the “Super Fresh Chicken Yukhoe Don” (Photo below)

This is seasoned partly cooked chicken with a raw egg on steamed rice.

Yukhoe is a Korean dish usually made with raw beef but this restaurant uses chicken instead.


Some people worry eating raw eggs and partly cooked chicken.

They use chicken which is dressed on the morning. They use super fresh chicken and eggs so please don’t worry.

They are seasoned with sesame oil and special sauce at last before serving.

Even when you finished a bowl of ramen, you still can finish this bowl of  delicacy with the hovering sesame scent. 


They have unique alcohol beverages so please check them too at the restaurant.

From Monday to Saturday, it opens until 3 am. It’s an option to spend a night in Kyoto.
